What’s your Next IQ?

What’s your Next IQ?

By: Toni Jakovec

As the business landscape becomes more global, companies are assessing and leveraging their largest assets.  At vomFASS, our product line of the highest quality extra virgin olive oils, fruited vinegars, wines and spirits has been a key asset for over 21 years.  Now with global franchise expansion well under way, partner diversity is rapidly enriching vomFASS for the future.  This enrichment becomes a valued asset by adding to the company’s Next IQ (Inclusion Quotient).

What exactly is the Next IQ?  According to Dr. Arin Reeves, the Next IQ “is that openness to learn from others, unlearn what you thought you knew, and relearn what you now see from your new perspective.”

Historically, new franchisees went into their venture having a good grasp of their market demographics.  Age, income level, educational level, etc. were all statistics that every savvy business owner had at the ready.  But, suppose, all of those venerable statistics were no longer in play.  What if the demographics that you depended upon shifted?  Would you be ready?  Would you even realize that your market base had changed?  These questions, and many more, are addressed by engaging your Next IQ.

Here are some statistics compiled by CNN.com.  Current population minorities are expected to become the majority by 2042.  By 2023, minority children are expected to make up a majority of the population of children. By 2050, it is projected that minorities will make up 54 percent of the population as a whole. The group expected to grow fastest is the Hispanic population, followed by the African-American population.  In total, these minority populations collectively are projected to make up 45 percent of the population as opposed to only 29 percent in 2008. The Asian-American population is expected to account for 9.2 percent of the population in 2050.

If this demographic shift is likely to affect your business, than this is the perfect opportunity to plug into your Next IQ.  By diversifying your company today, you will not only be prepared for the future marketplace, but will also tap into a whole new demographic customer pool.

For the past 6 years vomFASS USA has aggressively embraced the Next IQ formula.  A remarkably diverse family of franchisees are bringing new ideas, new customer bases and a sense of global enthusiasm to vomFASS.  vomFASS is proud to have a family comprised of owners who have immigrated to the United States, LGBT shop owners, multiple ethnicities, a wide age range of shop owners, varying levels of education and an equal distribution of male and female owners. Franchise partners with unique experiences, personal history and cultural contributions are valued assets for any forward thinking company.  vomFASS continues to count their franchisees’ diversity as a business asset and gains every day from their knowledge and perspective.

From Toni’s Kitchen: Scallops with Grapefruit-Orange Drizzle

This recipe is an adaptation of Liliana’s Restaurant chef, Dave Heide, who recently amazed vomFASS Experience Day visitors Mike Aldridge, Nidal and Melinda Estiban at a specially prepared dinner.  It is a scrumptious example of how to showcase the new vomFASS Grapefruit Oil and Orange Vinegar.

  • 1 T. vomFASS Peanut Oil
  • 1 T. Butter

vomFASS Salt & Pepper

  • 1 T. vomFASS Grapefruit Oil
  • 2 t. vomFASS Orange Balsamic Vinegar

  1. In a heavy bottom skillet, heat vomFASS Peanut Oil and Butter. Season scallops lightly on both sides with vomFASS Salt and Pepper.  Sear scallops on both sides for approximately 2 minutes per side.
