And the Winner Is…

The 1st Annual vomFASS USA Franchise Partner’s Meeting was held February 22-24, 2014 in Madison, Wisconsin. Attendees included vomFASS owner Thomas Kiderlen, Germany; Christoph Heidt, COO, Germany; Samira Esfahani, Marketing Director, Germany; Moritz Lueke, Wine & Spirits Product Manager, Germany; David Gibson, CEO VFUSA; Justin Gibson, President, VFUSA; the entire VFUSA staff and franchisees representing American stores from coast to coast.

After two days of informative presentations and much socializing, a gala Awards Banquet was held at Lilianna’s Restaurant, where Chef/Owner Dave Heide created a spectacular menu befitting the occasion. Heide uses vomFASS oils, vinegars and spirits in every special menu for vomFASS events, as well as select items on his daily menu. The evening was highlighted by the Franchisee Awards Ceremony. A list of the winners follows:


Sales Champion Award winners:
Kim & Gary Weiss (Jackson Hole, WY and Sedona, AZ)

This prestigious award is given to the franchise partners with the highest store sales for the year. With stores in both Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Sedona, Arizona, the Weiss’ have consistently high sales, even in off-seasons. They attend all international partner training sessions and maintain a highly motivated and passionate staff. Their merchandising expertise consistently translates into high volume sales.



Most Creative Award winners:
Lesli & Dustin Tanski (Fort Collins, CO)

Winners of this award have presented the vomFASS brand to the public in particularly creative ways. The Tanski’s hosted cooking and tasting events that included such whimsical themes as Harry Potter; Update Your Tailgate; Game of Thrones and Fabulous Fermentation. Their store is consistently decorated with creative window displays, unique gift sets and eye catching merchandising. This enthusiasm is reflected in their business, customer service and social media.



Most Improved Award winners:
Kristin & Chris Vetromile (Austin, TX)

The partners who win this award have shown the largest improvement in store performance. The Vetromile’s overcame countless challenges in this past year including navigating the Texas Alcohol Licensing bureaucracy as well as overcoming tremendous restrictions in local ordinances regarding outside advertising. Their valiant efforts have translated into an average of 100% weekly sales increase from last year.



Rookie of the Year Award winners:
Kim Peeples & Denise Solis (Claremont, CA)

vomFASS is proud to present this award to first year partners who exceed marketing, sales and brand expectations. With deep ties to their local business community, Kim Peeples and Denise Solis demonstrated sophisticated acumen belying their “freshman” status. They generated great buzz before opening and their Grand Opening was one of the most successful to date.

Ambassador of the Year Award winner:
Anita von Ballmoos (St. Louis, MO)

Pursuing her dream of opening a vomFASS store, Anita left her home country to become one of the first franchisees in the United States. Unbridled enthusiasm for the brand and products, Anita is always eager to promote vomFASS through frequent radio and television appearances. She has become a valuable resource promoting product quality and encouraging potential partners.



Franchise Partner of the Year Award winners:
Debbie & Robert Kay (Sarasota, FL)

This award is presented to the partners who most exemplify the vomFASS philosophy, customer service experience and outstanding business acumen. Discovering vomFASS while vacationing in Germany, the Kay’s have succeeded through business community networking and participation in local festivals and promotions. They provide constructive and creative feedback to VFUSA for the benefit of all the partners. The Kay’s have demonstrated an exceptional understanding of the vomFASS core qualities for success: location research; customer service; merchandising and unique set creation; marketing and social media; bookkeeping and public relations.
