The Migration Pattern of the Sharp-eyed vomFASS Franchisee

With three up and running and three shops under way, Florida now ranks number one in vomFASS USA franchise locations. According to the US Census Bureau, Florida is the 6th fastest growing state and is 3rd in population growth. So what makes Florida so popular? Well, there’s the weather; 3 NFL teams; ability to wear plaid leisure wear; no state income tax; Mickey Mouse; stone crabs; Key lime pie; and let’s not forget the weather. The Sunshine state boasts 365 summery days a year.

Phil and Linda Dickison, The Villages, Florida

We recently asked some of our vomFASS franchisees why they chose Florida. Here’s what they had to say.

Longtime Michigan residents, Phil and Linda Dickison are now proud store owners in The Villages. When asked why they chose Florida, Linda Dickison said, “I have been going to The Villages for about 15 years. When Phil and I got married, he fell in love with it too, so we decided that is where we would retire. It was only natural that, when we decided to pursue a vomFASS franchise, it would be in The Villages.” The location they choose was just a bit larger than needed for a full vomFASS shop. Undaunted, the Dickisons converted the extra space into a private tasting room for special events. They celebrated their grand opening in December, 2014.

Brand new franchisees, Jeff Ritter and Joe Pedro are getting ready to open their store in St. Petersburg. Hailing from Polar Vortex central, Cleveland, the pair have relocated to Indian Rock Beach. They live on the inter-coastal, giving them plenty of opportunity to enjoy their boat, be closer to family and luxuriate in the Florida lifestyle.

Laura Zecchini comes from the lush and temperate climate of Caracas, Venezuela. When asked about her decision to come to Florida she replied, “We choose Florida as our vomFASS location because it is the state we knew where the weather was like our country.” The family, Laura and her daughter Danielle with son-in-law Oscar, have settled into Florida and will be opening their shop in Boca Raton in the next few months.

Robert and Debbie Kay were the first to franchise a vomFASS in Florida. During Robert’s military service the couple visited a vomFASS in Germany and fell in love with the concept. After his service, including Afghanistan, they made their decision and became the first recipients of a vomFASS VetFran contract. They have been successfully running their Sarasota vomFASS shop for about a year and a half.

Relocating to Florida was always part of Wendy and Willie Doyles‘ master plan. “We wanted to move to a warmer climate and the time never seemed better than now,“ Willie said recently. Coming from the brutal Twin Cities‘ winter into the balmy Florida weather offered the Doyles‘ the climate contrast they were seeking. Their beautiful Naples vomFASS store has been up and running since the Fall of 2014.

Born in Venazuela and raised in New Jersey, Charlie O’Brien knew great weather when he saw it; and he saw it in Florida. Karen and Charlie will be the 6th Florida franchise when they open the doors to their new vomFASS shop this summer. Right next to Orlando, they have chosen a beautiful location in Winter Garden Village. With Orlando boasting more visitors than any other theme park, the O’Briens have a built-in tourist demographic.

It looks like Florida is the perfect location for a vomFASS franchise.
