Dear Friends,

alyne-gardnerAs we near the end of 2015, I want to sincerely thank everyone for your continuing interest in the vomFASS franchise concept and this wonderful company.  I’m very proud to be a part of the phenomenal success vomFASS has experienced in this past year.

I became the Franchise Development Director this past September.  I am delighted to say that we opened 8 new stores in 2015.  These shops are located around the country including San Diego; Boca Raton; Milwaukee; Winter Park (FL); Kansas City; St. Petersburg; Las Vegas (within The Venetian) and another shop right here in Madison, on State Street.  In addition to the shops that opened, we already have another 8 stores under contract to open next year. We aim for steady, sustainable growth.

One of the favorite aspects of my job is coordinating Experience Day here in Madison for potential franchisees.  We cap each event at a maximum of 3 interested parties so everyone gets personalized attention and the ability to truly experience the vomFASS family culture, including a “hands on” look at our flagship store.  These Experience Days happen about 8 times a year and include meeting the corporate staff; a visit to Yahara Bay Distillery; and an in-depth introduction to our product line; a visit to our Madison sister store on State Street and finally a fabulous dinner at an award winning restaurant serving gourmet dishes highlighting vomFASS products.  I mean, do I have the best job or what?

I’m often asked how I became associated with vomFASS.  I had been at a dinner party where the foodies were talking about vomFASS.  I heard glowing comments about the quality of the products.  I decided the next time I was in the area I would stop in and see for myself.  I opened the door, stuck my nose in, still with no idea of what to expect, when someone said, “Hello there.  Welcome to vomFASS.  Would you like to try some of our products?”  That was enough to get the rest of my body through the door.  I said, “Gee, I don’t even know what you have here.”  The staff member said, “We have the most amazing oils and vinegars, and someday we’ll have fantastic spirits over there in those barrels.  Would you like to try something?”  I asked, “How do you try them?”  “A spoon,” was the reply. I thought to myself, “Ugh, I’ve never had any oils or vinegars that were worthy of being tasted by a drop on a spoon.”  However, I looked around, because I didn’t want to be rude and I saw that they had Mango Vinegar.  (I spent my formative years in Florida, and I love mangoes.  I live in Wisconsin, and it’s really hard to get a good mango here.)  If I was going to try something here, let it be mango, and please, let it be good.  I was given a small sample of mango.  Immediately my taste buds stood up, did the happy dance and gave each other a high-five!  I had never tasted anything with so much impact in such a small amount.  They had me at mango.  I enjoy the palate  pleasing oil and vinegar parings, the artisnal spirits and wines that this unique franchise brings to light. As for holiday shopping, I can get something for everyone and never have to leave the store!

So, I went from being a devoted customer dragging all my friends in to enjoy the product tastings, to holiday helper and then to store staff.   I designed an “in home” vomFASS tasting party program which is a great way for new franchisees to build a customer base before store openings.  I joined the franchise development team three years ago, and became Franchise Development Director this past September.  I look forward to continuing to help vomFASS franchise stores expand throughout the US market.

I’d like to meet you all at one of our upcoming Experience Days.  And remember, if you have any questions about this wonderful company, I’d love to talk to you.

Peace and Joy,

Alayne

Enjoy a spectacular holiday season.
